Before May's, I had never experienced Hmong food. We ordered the Pork Belly meal, Coconut Curry, Spring Rolls and Thai Tea. Everything was delicious! At one point, the server/host brought us food that was for another table. It took a moment to figure out where the dish was supposed to go, but he quickly apologized, stepped behind the counter and then returned with a couple cans of Coke and said "no charge". I guess he was embarrassed for teasing us with food that wasn't for us. :) We were very grateful.
The hostess (owner/May?) stopped by to check on things as we were finishing and conversed with us and answered general questions that we had about the sauces. It turns out that the hot sauce and the sweet & sour sauce are both made in house.
If you get the opportunity, check out this affordable quaint, low key, restaurant.
May’s is a phenomenal place to eat and spend time. The owner came over and talked to us, instructing is on the way her family eats the food we ordered.
The egg rolls are simply the best I’ve ever had and the sticky rice should be a class 3 drug. Easily one of the best Thai/Hmong restaurants around.
Do not sleep on this place!
The egg rolls are awesome and perfect for a great and go meal. I love the pho, I recommend adding pork belly. The family that owns and operates is so friendly and accommodating.
This little restaurant was so good! I had never had pho before so we sat and talked with the owner about the different condiments people add to flavor it to their liking. She came to check on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The owner uses her own recipes for everything!
I will start by saying that they have the best crab rangoons around and I have had them a number of times at the farmer's market. However, when I went into the actual restaurant to have an order of them, they gave me the oldest ones that had been sitting in the display case for a long time. They were warm but far from fresh. The shells were hard and not the least bit crispy. I think I am better off waiting for the farmer's market where they regularly make them fresh.
