Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

For the manager at Perkins on East Mason Street in Green Bay tonight. I wish I had grabbed your name (we checked out at 8:14 pm, June 3, 2019) so I could put it in this review. But kudos to you and if I ever open another restaurant I would be lucky to have you.

Too often we only post the negative reviews. My son and I stopped in for dinner tonight at his request. No problems at all with my food, but he ordered a specialty burger, the BBQ one and was served a plain cheeseburger. Amy was our waitress and when she came around we brought it up, and she did talk to the cook. I will be honest I was a little miffed they didn't make him the burger he wanted, but instead was given a side plate with the missing ingredients. So he did have to try to piece together the burger he ordered and it wasn't quite the same.

But no worries, he said it was fine and didn't complain. And we didn't blame the waitress. She tried, we just had a lazy cook. So we were just going to leave it.

As we went to check out the manager was cashing us out, and without us saying anything apologized and took a few dollars off our bill. I'm assuming he just charged us for a plain cheeseburger. I told him it was fine, but he insisted.

So again, I'm sorry I didn't make the effort to get his name. And the meal was fine anyway. But I want to thank that manager anyway for going above and beyond to satisfy us, even though we hadn't complained. That is the type of manager every restaurant wishes they had. And because of that, we will definitely be back.

Perkins is a staple for most Wisconsin food-goers. For this particular location, the only real drawback seems to be the cook at the time. A good 90% of the time, you will have excellent wait staff and excellent food, but there is always a slight chance you get the 3rd string cook who doesn't quite cut it. That seems to be a recurring problem with all Perkins restaurants though. Also, a bonus star for recently changing their hours. For decades Restaurant goers had to flock to the West Side Perkins to get their late night cravings, no longer!

Great central location. I found the restaurant to be very clean. The service was also excellent. I didn't order food this visit so no opinion can be given regarding the food.

This is for Perkins Restaurant East Mason Street, Green Bay, WI. Pretty good place. Employees tend to stay there long-term, which also paints a good picture.

Handicapped parking, accepts all credit cards.

They serve breakfast and any menu item all day long. Great for kids with a nice kids menu. Kids get crayons!

Some food items are their signature pancakes and breakfast items, Belgian waffles, burgers, sandwiches, salads, skillets, soups. Get good coupons if you sign up for emails. Prices do go up with everything in life.

The desserts are always good from pies, cookies, and muffins! Kids get a free cookie of their choice with a kids meal! You can take home any desserts if you are stuffed, or an entire pie or muffin deals for your family or occasion!

PLEASE NOTE: While the daytime staff and environment is pretty good, the closer you get to the evening and into the night, service is a complete 180 from the daytime. This has been a constant trend for this particular restaurant for many years. However, it is one of the better Perkins in Green Bay as the Military Ave. location has a bad reputation for being understaffed, messy, inattentive.
