Tamarack Pizza

5 stars on delicious food and friendly service. Ma n Pa type atmosphere with bar. Planning to go again soon!

There are great burger places and then there is The Tamarack. Patties are always fresh, always seasoned and cooked right at the bar. Beer selection is limited, but always have a least 2 craft brews going. Fries could not be better and service is friendly and engaging. Atmosphere is what you'd expect in a "dive" which actually enhances the whole experience. A must stop.

For a dive bar/restaurant that looked like the only place open in Portage on a Sunday, the food was good. The split pea soup was a bit more watery than I'm used to, but had a nice pepper-garlic flavor to it that was very pleasant. Both the wife and I had excellent tenderloin sandwiches. Would come back here again.

I have been going here for many years. The pizza is uniquely awesome with lots of toppings and cheese. Delicious steak sandwiches and chicken. The folks there are friendly and always make you feel welcome. The prices are reasonable and there are great specials too. I love to eat there or call ahead and pick up a pizza to go. Always enjoy it.
