Roxbury Bar & Grill

We were used to the warm, eclectically friendly, vintage Roxbury, so were disappointed to find plastic banquet tables replaced almost all the wooden ones. Bluegill was tasty. Slaw had too much dressing. For the price, was disappointed that they didn't have real plates. Only given forks. No receipts either. Staff seemed friendly, though. They are under new ownership, so will try back in about 3-6 months.

Stop in and grab some food and something to drink. Great food, great service and an awesome atmosphere. They will treat you right whether you're a local or first timer!

Roxbury Tavern is a quirky original, i've been stopping here for years now. The food is as good as ever, get the Roxburger or one of their many rotating specials. Bonus if the smoker is going out front. It's not fancy but the cozy atmosphere is unique and relaxing. Laid back crowd, often several cyclists as it's along the trail from Madison.

Eclectic decor, including framed paintings and a fully intact beehive on a branch. Instruments hang above the bar, and several local craft beers on tap, Lake Louie, Port Huron, etc. Great place.

House rules: Cash only, no big groups, no cussin'.

RIP 2018: Wish Tom well in retirement. I'll miss the Roxbury Tavern, it had character and originality in spades, one of the most unique country taverns in WI.

Great job cleaning up this place. Burgers are amazing and atmosphere is much brighter and welcoming than it used to be. New owners did a good job updating everything to the 21st century.

We stopped for lunch and ordered cheeseburgers and steak fries. Everyone was very friendly and the food was delicious! Nice job cleaning up! Will definitely stop again! Nice to have it open for lunch!
