Red Coal BBQ

I visited Red Coal at their previous location and it was excellent so I finally found time to stop at the new location. Was disappointed to see the meat sampler was gone so I went with the brisket because it's my favorite. Also got mac and cheese and potato wedges for sides. The sides were very good, corn bread was what you'd expect and the brisket was in fact really good. However presentation was terrible. I've never ordered brisket and just gotten a big chunk of meat. It made it rather difficult to eat. All in all I'll go back but need to work on the presentation.

First off I very rarely right reviews but this was too good not to. We stopped in from Eastern NC on our way to MN!! Eastern Nc is know for their BBQ and this was amazing!! Megan our server was so sweet and took such good care of us. She even tried to accommodate our request of vinegar based BBQ. The food was so good and the service was as well. The collards were just as good as if they were made in the south. If you are a local I would definitely come and eat here!! It’s rare now and days to go out to eat and get the best of both worlds good food and service!! Thank you Megan

I am not a huge fan of smoked meats....but one time here and I was hooked. I get the meat for take out when we have guests. SO good. And their barbecue sauce is delicious!

I’m not one to usually write reviews, but wow did this place really knock my socks off. I tried the red coal burger, which I didn’t have high hopes for by getting a burger at a bbq joint but, wow was I wrong! It was cooked to perfection and extremely flavorful with a huge pile of deliciously tender and flavorful pulled pork on top. I loved trying all the unique beers they had on tap (which are priced extremely reasonably for craft beers at a restaurant), as for service it was great! Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly and the owner even went out of his way to come chat and ask us about our food! All in all a great place. If you’re looking to support a great local business this is the place to go! Will be back soon! :)

I'm fully impressed. Everything was on point. Great food, you can tell it was made with care. I had the brisket and collard greens with a side of pork belly. All of this was delicious. The service was amazing as well. Joe had a friendly conversation with us and made sure we felt like guests. Best BBQ I've found in town.
