So here’s what’s odd about this place. The fish fry was cooked perfectly. Like the best I’ve had in a long time. However, it didn’t taste like anything. I mean it had 0 flavor. Like a plain potato had more flavor. It’s kind of a shame. They really need to just put salt in the batter or something. I don’t mean to be negative, just factual. Also, the female bartenders had a non-personality. Like they had no will to live.

Kinda hesitated to go bc reviews BUT it was good all the way around. Good food, service, ambiance! Ordered the $13 battered cod dish, think it was good price.. Fish was good, not greasy. Thick pieces...good enough to eat without tartar sauce! My hubby had the combo platter. Perch and walleye were also good. The coconut cream pie was to die for! Definitely going back!

Went for a fun Paint & Plant event that included delicious soup, salad, cornbread and blueberry cobbler. Will be back for dinner!

The bar is small but quaint. Cozy is more like it. The staff were polite, but not overly friendly. The beer was cold and served in a can. My only gripe (ready for this one?) was the fish fry. When the walleye came to the table, the plate looked great! A really generous fillet of fish, lightly breaded, with Cole slaw, tarter sauce, seasoned mojos, and a thick slice of Italian bread. Great so far! I cut into the tender fillet and popped that first forkful into my mouth and something unexpected happened... I tasted absolutely nothing! Not just that there wasn't a fishy taste, but no taste at all! My wife's cod was the same way! Almost like it was soaked in water for too long. Also it was so riddled with bones that I decided not to take any more chances after just 1/3 of the fish was eaten. I'd go back for a beer if I was in the neighborhood, but definitely not the fish. The wait (and it was a long one) was definitely not worth it. And this was also on St Patrick's Day weekend, so it was really busy!
