Kate's Pizza Amore

Really, really good pizza. Wow. Had the Spinach Surprise (sans meat) and it was perfect. Service was great, inside was clean and cozy. Will definitely come back.

This is HANDS DOWN my favorite pizza place in La Crosse. A little pricey, but worth it as a special treat. My favorite is the Roman Ruins. It is truly Gourmet Za! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Probably my #1 pizza of ALL TIME....and I'm fortunate to live in the same city!

Not family friendly

My husband, mother in law, and toddler son all went here for dinner tonight. The pizza was wonderful, the salad my MIL got was delicious, but this place really is not a place for a family to go. They did not have high chairs, with the excuse that their "dining room is too small", but they also did not have any booster seats. Which take up zero space in the dining room... So, obviously the reason is that children are not welcome, not the lie that their dining room is too small. They also did not have a lid for their cups and the "straw" for him was a stir stick from the bar.
(It is a smaller place though, so prepare for a wait or just take out if you dont have the time.)

It is a shame, because the pizza was really unique and delicious. I really wanted to love it, but the whole experience was soured by having to prop my almost-2-year-old on pillows from their bench seat and get him to stay there while we ate, because this restaurant is exclusionary to an entire population of people & their kids. Oh, well.
I hope they will invest in the community with at least one high chair and booster seat. There is room.

I'd recommend the hot honey pizza any day, though.

Always a great meal and excellent service! We always seem to get the same male waiter who is great. The manager takes the time to recommend dishes and drinks as well as making sure we are happy as we are enjoying our dinner. Thank you for making our night out so enjoyable!

This is a great place to go if you would like a unique pizza experience. The prices are a little higher but that’s kind of expected for a good quality place that offers a unique item. The atmosphere is amazing. If you want cheap pizza with lots of options go to pizza doctors. If you want great quality pizza in an elegant yet charming environment go to Kate’s Pizza Amore.

Edited from earlier review: I accidentally hit 1 star and was not able to go back and edit at that time so I am glad that the owner responded and so positively I might add when they thought this was intended to be a negative review. This also brought the mistake I made to my attention when it popped up in my email. So thanks for that! Just one more reason responding to reviews is important for business owners to do! ????
