We visited here after having a bad experience with another restaurant up the street. We were greeted quickly and warmly. Everyone was very friendly, especially our waiter Ben. He was hilarious and had a fun personality. He was very upfront about what items they were currently out of, which was very helpful. The pie and coffee we had was delicious. The experience we had here completely changed our night. Will definitely return next time we’re in Wisconsin.
My wife and I have been been going to Comet for several years now. The food has been delicious every time we've gone, and the service has been good enough. We've had a few experiences of bad service and a few experiences of great service, but mostly the service is good enough as to not be given much thought. With as good as the food always is at Comet, that's all I really need. The prices are pretty reasonable too.
Absolutely incredible for such an unassuming place. Had an omelette and my girlfriend had a breakfast burrito. Portions are very generous! Service was fast and excellent. Definitely have to come back for lunch/dinner options!
Absolutely amazing food. I had the pulled pork Sammie and not even explicit language can help me describe how delicious the food was. The bun was lightly buttered and toasted to perfection. The pulled pork was not overly doused in BBQ sauce so you got to taste every flavor that was intended. The fries brought me back to my family vacations to ocean city in Maryland. I have no clue what they do to them, but they were more addictive than crack. Probably half the menu had vegan options so it suits a lot of different people. Because of that, I would recommend this place to anyone. The food is amazing and the wait staff were incredibly friendly and tentative.
If you're looking for vegan food in Milwaukee, Comet Cafe is an excellent choice. The best thing about this lovely spot is that food is served until midnight. That gives you plenty of time to pop your head in for food there or to-go. I highly recommend the vegan gyro and vegan deep-fried "ribs". Both orders came with a side of fries, and I enjoyed a bottle of Fuel Cafe's coffee flavored stout while waiting for them. Will be returning many times when I am back in the summer!
