El Tenampa Mexican Grill & Cantina

Our first time to this restaurant. Authentic Mexican food. Very good. Excellent flavor and portions are large for what we had. The margaritas are the best I have had in a long time . Prices are responsible too. Servers were very attentive to all our needs and were always available to check on you. If your in the area and want Mexican I would recommend this place. We will definitely return here for dinner again.

We went here for the first time based on the numerous good reviews we read. Lesson? Don't believe everything you read! The service was excellent, and the staff was great. They were all very nice. The food on the other hand was not quite mediocre. We had chips and guacamole for an appetizer, and I must say, the guacamole was excellent. I had steak and a chicken chimichanga, strangely the chimi had the consistency and flavor of a tamale. Strange, but quite tasty. The steak is where I had the problem. It was so tough, I could barely tear through it with my knife. The flavor was decent, but my jaws were so sore from chewing that I left half of it on my plate. It was one of, if not the toughest pieces of meat I've ever eaten. Because of the excellent service, and the deliciously cold beer, I would give this place another try, but not for a while, as long as the memory of that piece of cooked shoe leather is still fresh in my memory.

First time there and it was outstanding. Great service fantastic food. The Mexican corn is a must. Has the tequila shrimp very good and a good amount of shrimp. The fried ice cream is the best way to finish up your meal. A must if you like a huge menu with alot of choices. They even have a kids meal that also has cheeseburgers and chick fingers

This smaller restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and is easy to find. It has a diverse menu, with good food at reasonable prices. Plus an interesting drink menu with a variety of 'Mexico' to meet your tastes. You can enjoy this restaurant either by yourself, with that special person in your life, or the entire family. Stop by and enjoy..????????

A close friend of mine use to take me here for lunch. The food is great, the margs are delicious, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. My friend passed away in November and I still come here frequently not only for the memories but because I know she'd want me to treat myself to a giant margarita every once in a while! I will forever recommend this restaurant to friends, family, and people in passing. Best Mexican in the greater Brown Deer area!
