Botanas Restaurant

If you're looking for some pretty authentic Mexican food, Botanas is a good option in this area. They do have free customer parking, but it gets pretty busy in there. Be advised that there is an automatic gratuity placed in your receipt if you're still in the restaurant after 9 p.m.
There is also the option of Botanas II on east Holt.

This a great place. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The employees remember us every time we stop in. Definitely stop down and enjoy a margarita.

The service was great. The food was good but typical. I can't say that I ate anything that separated them from the rest of the pack. I ordered the enchiladas. The dinner was good ,but I have had the same off a taco truck. Let me give you a example. Years ago there use to be this place called The Acapulco. This place serves the best enchiladas. When you ate those things it sent you to another plane of existence. The sauce and the beef they used was addictive. That's what Botanas need , a signature dish. Something you can't get off the taco truck.

Parking was a bit of a challenge. Restaurant was busy. The service was good. Food was served in a timely manner. The nacho chips and salsa were fresh and consistently forthcoming. My favorite thing was the cold shrimp soup. Fresh tender shrimp and other ingredients in a thin flavorful broth. Just delicious.
Reasonably priced and worth the price!
