Quality of ingredients was good. It seems like all they kept was the name. Unpolished for the lengthy"coming soon" (e.g. dusty, dead digital jukebox in the corner) $16 entree prices raise your expectations, that's the cost for 3 tacos, scoop rice and a cup of tortilla soup. The watermelon push cart artwork was a highlight. Check your comps (GTO, Corazon, La Salsa, Ceilito Lindo...Little Cancun)

Since the move to the new location, the atmosphere is no where as great as the old location and the food had very little flavor. They got rid of their Xelha meat combination, their rice is now bland, and even their great tortilla soup is not as good. This used to be my favorite Mexican food place and now I feel I won't be going back.

Went last night for our second time in the new location. We used to love the old Maya- very warm ,inviting feel. Somehow the new place feels very different despite some of the same decor.
The first time- 3 weeks after opening- the place was packed and totally chaotic- took us 2 hours from the time we came in to get our food. They kept bringing us more chips and offering free drinks which I didnt want. By the time we got dinner I ended up boxing up most of it -although it did taste great.
We decided to give them another shot last night. The place was dead but it still took a fairly long time for the food. Service was okay- none of the warmth we used to get at the old location where we visited so often. Food was just okay- shrimp were overcooked. Not a bad experience but nothing that would make me feel we have to go back.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. Great food and service. Their moles and tortilla soup are to die for. Really though, I could order anything on their menu and be happy. Even the seafood dishes are winners (the ceviche is really good).
