Stopped in after a brewery crawl throughout Milwaukee. To my glee, they had an unlimited refill of pork ribs and chicken drums. Count me in. Both meats came with a dry rub that was both sweet and spicy. You could taste what I think is paprika, brown sugar, and pepper. It came with two sides, I got beans and brunswick stew. The beans had chunks of their brisket so I feel like a got a taste of everything. As a certified BBQ judge, I can say that this is good stuff. The meat was succulent and not dry. You could taste the smoke, the rub, and the meat, none was overpowering the other.
The vibe inside is kind of industrial, with lots of exposed pipe and wood with black walls. Big TVs to watch sports. Located right downtown, its street parking only. The staff was attentive and the beer list was substantial, especially good prices on happy hour.
Need to like vinegar as part of your bbq experience. I don't mind it but it was a little overdone with the vinegar coleslaw. Burnt Pork ends were way more meat than I was expecting which for the price was excellent. They need to give portion options for their plates with price adjustments. I would have been happy with half the amount of meat and one side. Good service and it tasted good. I'd go again.
Visiting the Milwaukee area for a week long conference and I was long overdue for something more than sandwiches. I ordered the 4 rib plate with sides. The ribs were meaty, the baked beans were delicious and the Brunswick stew was loaded with vegetables. Overall, the meal was delicious and reasonably priced.
We stopped here prior to going to dinner with some friends. We had good appetizers. It's extremely unfortunate how small their margaritas were for the price. There wasn't much flavor(tequila or otherwise) and I ended up getting a Spotted Cow to wash it down. Their appetizers were killer and we enjoyed them thoroughly albeit briefly as everyone quickly demolished them.
I would gladly stop there again but this time avoid the margaritas and save face with my wallet
Delicious meats! The smoky flavor infused in the turkey was amazing. My parents had the pork sandwich and chicken wings and agreed they were yummy. Sides were just kind of there. Our server was great, the other servers looked a little stressed, though it was a very busy weekend with lots of graduation parties. If you like BBQ, you should have a great meal here.
