Wow - this place was excellent. The mac n' cheese was simply bursting with rich, cheesy, savory flavor. The noodle shape is awesome (for holding sauce) as well. I'd come back here for this dish alone.
The monte cristo was great too. Although I usually prefer this sandwich not being fried and with powdered sugar, the additional homemade sauces they provide help to balance out all the fatty fried flavor.
The chicken sandwich is really tasty as well with a great balance of flavor. There were sides passed around of waffle fries and what seemed like long tater tots (I forget the name). The homemade cheese sauce was perfect alongside all the starch.
The atmosphere here is perfect for intimate dining or a laid back bite to eat. Staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Fool's Errand is a fantastic choice for quality food and atmosphere.
The food was pretty good! It was a nice spot and I appreciate the plexi glass between tables!
Our waitress was great.
What a great find. Truly elevated American cuisine in a really nice tavern. The beer list is small, but it's all good stuff. The kitchen should be proud of what they do. The Monte Cristo has a microscopically thin, crunchy outer shell that just pushes an already awesome sandwich into another realm. Every one of the small dishes had a similar attention to detail. We ate at the bar because seating was immediate there on a Saturday night, and the bartender was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Highly recommended.
Service and environment were very welcoming. Food was excellent. Chicken liver toast is a must get. Entrees of salmon and steak Diane were awesome and the bananas foster waffle was amazing.
Well done!
