Ruby J's Family Restaurant

Everything were very pleasing to my palate. The food was finger licking good. I had the smothered chicken wings, green beans dressing and sweet potato casserole for the first time.Customer service made my visit a homey and friendly experience. I would recommend this place to anyone.

OMG!!! I don't know where to start. First all kudos to your staff and your restaurant is so clean. The collards will make you truly slap your mama(lol). My catfish was season to perfection, and it was hot. The dressing was very tasty as well. I was stuff and didn't get a chance to taste my strawberry Banna pudding I'm very picky and I have no complaints!!! I Please keep those high standards, and I will be back, that's for sure.

Came in from South Louisiana to visit my son and he had been telling me about Ruby J’s Restaurant. We were able to meet Mr. Eric and Mrs. Deborah Brown, the owners. The food was delicious! I had the fried chicken that was to die for. Ms Deborah gave me a taste of her sweet potato casserole to try as an option for my side. It is exactly like my mom’s recipe. My son had the Mac n Cheese and wings. We even ordered the all time summer favorite Kool-aid. It’s the simple things in life! Everything they cook and make you can taste the love! The customer service is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. There is an area with TV’s and if you sit towards the back they have this nice jazz playing. Love the big windows that you can see the outside. I was amazed that they had only been open since the beginning of 2023. Make sure to read and learn the history about Mrs. Ruby J. If you live in Milwaukee or in town visiting it is a must to try this cafe family restaurant. You can park for free diagonally across the street. It is a delicious experience that you will want to come back to try the specials and more of the menu. I highly recommend Ruby J’s Restaurant. Look forward to a return visit to see how my new friends from Milwaukee are doing. Thank you for your hospitality!

Had the catfish steaks & tots.
My friend had the catfish black eyed peas, string beans& cornbread muffin. The catfish was fried hard like we like it seasoned very well, Black Eyed Peas were delicious string beans were typical string beans.
There is a lot of bar food on the menu like fried Polish, party, wings, burger, grillcheese and even sloppy Joe’s of course fried and bake chicken, but only dark meat, which is kind of disappointing because I want baked chicken, but I don’t like dark meat, but he did promise to add white meat to the baked chicken menu. They also have Kool-Aid on the menu. ( Surprised me😃)

The decor is beautiful, loved the art work, very comfortable setting. it’s really important to women that we have a nice& clean bathroom and they nailed our bathroom ladies.
so spoke the owner Bishop and his lovely wife, who is also the cook, really nice caring people open to ideas and promise to have white meat the next time I come in. It’s only been open about two weeks so we’re going to give them a little time, I definitely will go back again.  black owned, black ran,
