Everything but the wings were delicious. The sauce came on the side, which is fine. But the wings themselves didn't seem to have any seasoning. They set up is absolutely great foe watching games.
We were not pleased with the hosts. We are out of towners who came to watch the first weekend of college football. The male host who was about 6’1 with dark longish hair was a jerk to our group. We walked in an were unsure how many where in our group as I was calling to get a head count from our friends he rudely said “well I need to know how many” and it was very clear we were trying to figure out how many were coming. When we told them 15 people we got the nastiest eye roll and a huff. I can handle a lot of things but rude people who appear to hate their jobs ruined our whole experience.. they acted if we were an inconvenience and this was the busiest place and how dare a large group come in when there was approximately 4 tables.. I needed 10 seconds to confirm a headcount there was no one behind us or trying to come inside so we were not blocking anyone from entering.
We came here for college football we wanted to be more in the bar area, but we happily sat where we were seated and asked to put on a specific game. After we were done half of our group moved to the bar so we followed. We put our beer town on a table the server said it was okay that we stand there out if I where the rude male host says “you cannot stand here” and we move. Part of the other half of the group go back and stand around the table the male host comes back and says “you cannot stand here your friends with the beer tower ruined it for everyone.” I could handle it if he was nice about it but being a prick was not the move. I would 100% give this place a 1 star based off their attitudes and making us feel VERY unwelcome.
The food and drinks were good. Our server was good as well but didn’t really seem to happy to have our large group. Service was a little slow but nothing that was too bad as we had a big group.
We are a group of previous servers and other customers service backgrounds so we are a very understanding group, very patient and kind to all in the restaurant business, but we do not take kindly to be treated rudely. There are plenty of things you cannot control but your attitude is one of them.
We held a wedding welcome party for a little over 100 guests at Mecca’s lower level and patio. Mali was so helpful in planning the event, where we had an appetizer station and served beer and cocktail. The event went so smoothly (despite our late arrival from our rehearsal dinner), and our guests were raving about the food and the very quick drink service. The indoor-outdoor patio area was perfect for a summer night as well, and the location in Deer District was a great way to showcase the city to all of our guests from out of town. We were so glad we chose Mecca for our event, and would recommend them without reservation for anyone looking to provide a fun night for a large group.
We picked this venue as it was directly across from the event center, FiServ. We had about a 10 minute wait at 4:30 pm prior to a 6:00 venue open. We noticed that there were lots of empty tables, but yet we had to wait. Now we understood it was a standard scheduling plan that minimizes both wait time and minimal employees. Pretty smart. By the time we left, 5:45, the place was packed and fully staffed with people waiting. The service was amazing, attentive but not crowding us to leave. The food was great, yet priced for the area.
We left a big tip. Always leave a big tip here as the staff contends with some real sh%t heads.
Spacious and TVs available in every corner. Their food is good and the service is awesome. Unfortunately during busy time there is no parking spots near by. But def worth watching bucks games there.
