This place is great! Just hearing the name I expected a really busy cafe. Arriving to find a home-style, cozy atmosphere took me by surprise and made me instantly comfortable. Our waitress was friendly and gave us recommendations on what to order. The menu is southern comfort food, and The Farmer's Wife delivers that perfect flavor experience. The shrimp and grits taste just like what you'd find in Louisiana. Their house desert is a blueberry cheesecake that is to die for. All of the food is made fresh, and you can taste that difference. This is a place to return to!

Some of the best southern style comfort food I have found in the Milwaukee area. The Shrimp and Grits rival some of the best I have had in Lousiana. I can't suggest this place enough.

Wonderful experience tonight! Vanessa was one of the best servers that I have ever had! Warm and cozy establishment, that screams rustic and local. When it comes to food, I am just saving the best for last: Everything is cooked from scratch and made-to-order. They do comfort food right. I grew up in Georgia and have had many different takes on BBQ pulled pork, home cooking and the like. The pulled pork on the poutine was 'melt in your mouth' and seasoned to perfection, fries were freshly cut and the cheese curds were perfectly coated in homemade gravy. Oh yeah and the country fried steak was a thing of beauty. We are planning on coming back often. I highly recommend (10/10)

Super clean and very hip atmosphere. Loved the wall murals! Food was flavorful and delicious. Affordable prices! Large group seating available. Although I didn't try the drinks, the bar looks amazing! Deff worth a try!

Our first visit to the Farmer's Wife, on a Saturday night, and it was wonderful! It appears to be a neighborhood restaurant/bar from the outside, but the food inside is terrific! All locally-produced meats and vegetables, meals made from scratch and very good service. My wife had the lobster roll (in a neighborhood restaurant?!) and I had the shepherd's pie, and both were terrific! We'll certainly be back.
