Excellent food hidden away in small town Wisconsin

The James Beard nominations displayed on the wall right as you enter set the bar high, but we were very disappointed. Service was scattered and inattentive. We spent most of our dinner on Friday watching a server play on her phone in front of the kitchen door. The sides for each entree were all the same, and I would have appreciated more than 2 green beans on my plate. Food was tasty and well done, but the service and prices did not match the rest of the experience.

I am in culinary LOVE! The heirloom tomato salad with burrata cheese and backyard basil was lovely (I especially liked the tiny clovers on the tomato slices... adorable!) The service was spot on. The main dish I had was perfectly spiced (Thai inspired coconut green curry with rice and jumbo shrimp). And the burnt honeycomb ice cream is a MUST try! Atmosphere is fantastic. So Zen, classy but still very comfortable. P.S. they know how to make the perfect espresso too, which has become rare in these days. If I could give you more stars, I would. I will be back... with friends! ❤????????

This is experience dining in a surprising location. The small menu changes based on what fresh ingredients they can get. The evening we were there, I had grilled, whole, fresh trout "from just down the road" that had been swimming that morning, and that seemed to melt in my mouth as I ate it. Welcoming, attractive, yet casual ambiance. Great service. This is our new favorite special restaurant. Before we left we were already planning our next visit.
