TIP: Crunchy roll and pot stickers are amazing and don’t come here for birthday recognition like other restaurants. 4 stars because they sometimes play loud pop music making it hard to have a date conversation. Someone had a birthday and they blasted some super weird David Bowie Disney birthday song for 4-5 minutes, but no one danced or sang or actually acknowledged the birthday person. We eventually left because we couldn’t have any legitimate conversation without shouting. Small complaint for amazing food. And the Best part?? They still honor lunch special pricing for takeout, so we just do our sushi nights at home now after kids go to bed.
Really great food! The waitress helped us order, as we’d never been there before. Told us what she thought was good. We will definitely be back!
Also, great prices considering the amount of food you get.
The atmosphere is so awesome. Dark inside with some brain lights. Plenty of hibachi tables. Each hibachi party that is seated requires a minimum of two hibachi ordered (or at least ours did, with a party of two). The waitress was very attentive. We went during a lunch special and the prices were very reasonable. The hibachi show was entertaining. The food was cooked fresh right away. For two people on a Sunday during the lunch special it was about $30.
My only drawback is that the teriyaki on the chicken I ordered was too salty and it was hard to eat all of it.
The steak did not seem to have this issue.
Went at around 1:30 PM on Sunday and a very windy winter day. Was maybe 10 other customers in the place at this time. Food was above average and the menu was very extensive. The staff was friendly and laid back. The reason only 4 stars was it took longer than normal in my opinion to get a check after we were finished with the amount of patrons here. We will definitely return because there are a lot of other items that I want to try
Sushi is very good. They are often extremely busy though, and it can be a bit hectic. Reservations would most likely be a good idea. I think they need more tables, but the staff is very friendly and will make you feel welcome. They did not let us leave without asking how our experience was, which I find to be very courteous.
One other thing I would like to see are more permanent sushi specials on the menu. When I go out for sushi with friends, that’s all we get, and we get a lot. It’s a more expensive meal, but places that offer “3 specialty rolls for $xx” are really great and I wish they offered that here. Kyoto in Greenfield does this really well, with all you can eat sushi on certain days. This would drive me into Umi far more often.
