Moved to Kewaskum recently and have been investigating the local cuisine on offer. Will definitely be coming back to J.O.'s to try out more items. A word of warning, which the locals are all quite familiar with: Place your take out order earlier rather than later (and this is predominantly a take out joint. I counted 3 tables to eat at, which I surmised were mostly used by folks stopping in for the odd lunch.) If you walk in and order you may be waiting a long time for your dinner, as this is a well-oiled machine here. When we stopped in to pick up our order on a Friday at about 3:30 PM, the counter was chock full of phoned in orders awaiting processing.

The thin cracker crust pizza is on par and probably better than De Marinis or Organ Piper. Loaded with excellent (what I suspect) was full fat mozz, and plenty of sauce, which was complex and savory in flavor. High quality toppings as well. Opened up my fridge the next day and the heavenly smell of the leftovers wafted out.

Also had some home made pickle fries, which were great in ranch. The cod fish fry dinner, was tender and complemented well with a generous portion of home made tasty tartar sauce. The breading was similar to what Aliotos has on their fish fry. Four types of potato options came with the meal: crinkle fries, potato salad, German potato salad, and a cheesy potato dish. I got the German, which was better than most I've had, very enjoyable, and piping hot. Coleslaw was above par. My wife tried the home made potato chips with cheese and bacon melted over it, with a side of sour cream. Also top notch. Can't wait to try more at J.O.'s! My hat is off to them.

Last week we had 5 fish plates, cheesy hash brown potatoes, coleslaw and rye. Tonight, two pizzas one loaded and the other pep and saus. Loads of flavor, prompt, and fresh. It can't get any better than that. A must have. Thank you Jodi, Squeak and the rest of the crew.
