Heart & Soul Cafe

I went here almost a year ago, and my wife and I talk about their oatmeal pancakes very often. More than we care to admit. A must-visit when passing through Pinedale or spending time in Pinedale.

Awesome experience with family, we visited Pibedale during our winter break, went to this place, Heart & Soul cafe for brunch, excellent choices, tasty food and amazing service, Frank served us, had a friendly conversation and thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip.

Where to start? They advertise sausage gravy with their biscuits & gravy but that's not what you get as the picture will show you. They are cordial, but not really friendly. You order at the counter and have to come back in for refills of water & coffee. Which are the only things you get free refills of. You get one piece of toast, a side of bacon is only 3 pieces. The ham they gave me was slightly thicker than a piece of paper. Everything tasted ok, but just ok. At least everything was clean.

The food here is exactly what you'd expect a home cooked meal to taste like. When I received my eggs benedict, the first thing I looked for when cutting into it was does the yolk run without the outer egg white falling apart? It didn't. They were made perfectly and served with well seasoned country style potatoes. Nothing was scalding hot or less than room temp. The French toast sticks served as an excellent desert following the savory meal. The staff was great. We were greeted by a sweet old lady who may or may not have been the owner. Overall great environment, great restaurant.

First, the atmosphere is very relaxing! The staff were very attentive and kind people who do a really good job. The breakfast I had was delicious and cooked perfectly. It's sometimes hard for places to get eggs cooked perfectly to order, but they do a fantastic job! We spent a portion of our morning here on our way out of town and I wish we could have stayed longer. I will most assuredly be back next time I am in town. Wonderful!
