Ranchito Café

Restaurant

“This place was very strange. It came recommended however we had a very poor experience. The entire dining room was empty and silent and echoed. There was no music and it was awkward. The service was lacking and the food was not great at all. The rice seemed like it was from a pre-made packet that you microwave.”

Little Chief Saloon

Address: 601 N 10th St, Worland, WY 82401, USA

Restaurant

“Stayed in Worland for the evening on route to Yellowstone NP. We went out for something to eat and ended up at the Little Chief Saloon. Although we fancied steak, they didn’t have it, but, the bar tender/chef recommended the special, which was grilled chicken with rice & broccoli au gratin. So, we tried it and it was delicious!! Really lovely flavors. But the best part was not the food, but the atmosphere inside the saloon and the way that everybody in there, made you feel welcome and at home. Thanks very much to all at the Little Chief Saloon. But especially the bar man/chef!”

“It's really not remarkable at all... mediocre pizza on what felt like frozen crust, like what you would get at a skating rink or bowling alley. We did choose the personal one though so it may be different. It was boring at best. Wings were strange, but ok. The atmosphere was straight from the 90s... not a terrible experience but certainly nothing to write home about.”

The Cookhouse at TA Ranch

Address: 28623 Old Hwy 87, Buffalo, WY 82834, USA

Restaurant

“My wife and I just moved to Wyoming and are still appreciating the Bighorns and the foothills. It's a beautiful place, and that's the first thing that will strike you as you approach TA Ranch. It's beautiful here. Pulling up, it's a bit confusing because none of the buildings in the compound immediately jump out as being a restaurant. We parked three times before deciding where to go. Inside, it looks just like you want it to. It's spacious, rustic, and homey. I wish the drapes had been open so we could enjoy the view. We started with the wedge salads and I have to say, they were perfect. Crispy home fried bacon, cold crunchy lettuce, and juicy tomatoes. Perfect. My New York steak arrived and it was a bit thinner than I'd hoped, had a bit more gristle than I hoped, and was slightly undercooked. The herb butter on top though, and the juiciness of the meat, more than made up for any shortcomings. The scalloped potatoes were good, and the vegetable it came with was stir-fried snow peas, which were incredible. The server was new -- her fifth night serving ever -- and service was slow. They gave us a couple of small berry cobblers as an apology. My wife chose the brisket and it was meaty, smoky, and tender. I like the place. Everyone was so nice. The prices were good, and the food was good. If I may nit-pick, I have two issues I want to raise. First, about half the restaurant has normal chairs. By that, I mean they're made of wood or steel, and you can trust them. The other half are the flimsiest folding chairs you've ever seen. They're difficult to sit on, very uncomfortable, and I feared it would give out any second. My other issue is that I didn't know you could get a steak knife that is that cheap. It too was flimsy. It tore the steak to shreds, and that was when it cut the steak at all. A little investment in some solid chairs and quality food service steak knives would not only go a long ways for your customers, but would have caused me to give a fourth star. UPDATE: We went back this week and what a difference. The owner explained that we had been there on their busiest day ever, and most of her crew was working their first shift. This time, the rolls were nothing short of incredible. The salads were cold and fresh. I had the burger and it’s over-the-top delicious. I’ve added two stars. This place is great.”

The Sleepy Coyote

Address: 125 2nd St, Ten Sleep, WY 82442, USA

“We stopped by for lunch on our way to Cody, WY and Yellowstone. Very nice cafe. I had the spicy grilled chicken sandwich and it was phenomenally good. Friendly staff, fantastic food, and decent portion size. I will definitely come back again.”
