Hair Tropics - Cuts for Kids

We visited Hair Tropics for the first time yesterday, after it being recommended to us over and over again for our son. My 4 year old son is on the ASD spectrum, and struggles with hair cuts. He has not had a proper one since he was 1, and it is a very stressful event for our family to do it at home for him. I have been searching for a place that would be patient and kind with him (and us) while we tried to get his hair cut. Hair Tropics was absolutely that place. Cassie - the hairstylist - was able to cut his hair, with NO TEARS. She went so far as to suggest sitting on the floor to play with some toys in the lobby area, and then slowly work up to the cut with some hair brushing etc while my son was happy playing. She was so sweet, and kind and patient and I never felt like a burden. The owner was also working (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name!!) and she was SO helpful with my son and other 2 children, as well as making me feel welcomed and that this place was a safe space for our family. Honestly, I could of cried because of how amazing the experience was. We will 100% be doing our kids hair cuts here forever, and always recommend them to anyone!!!! THANK YOU!

We had the best experience today at Hair Tropics! Our son has been very scared to get a haircut for 2 years now. The staff here were so patient, nice and friendly throughout the whole visit. They waited untill he was comfortable, they were very encouraging when addressing him and they all gave him high fives and lots of smiles. The haircut was a huge success and we will definitely be back!

I took my 5 yr old here for here first haircut today - she’s quite shy and has never wanted a haircut until today. So I called around and was able to get in to Hair Tropics. I had heard good things and they were true! The experience was so fun. She got to sit in a police car and watch Frozen. She got a glitter tattoo and we got some colour extensions clamped into her hair. The staff were super friendly. The cut itself felt a little rushed but it looks great! Highly recommend :)

Few months ago my daughter got her ears pierced here, they did a phenomenal job! VERY patient and kind. They waited and took the time until my daughter was ready to do it.
We then came back today for a hair cut and some colour hair extensions and again, did an amazing job!
We love the staff and will continue to make the 40 min drive to get her hair done anytime!

Wow what a great place! Everyone was so kind! Got both my daughters and my hair done. Both had over 4 inches off and they did amazing! Kids were able to play Mario kart or watch a movie. Will go here again 100%!
