Marko's Kitchen

My partner and I were in Calgary on our way to kananaskis for some camping, decided to try a non chain restaurant and we were so happy that we did.

We shared the bbq meat plate along with a sour cabbage salad, it was some great home cooked food no fancy plating and we were okay with that. The food was awesome and the owner was such a great person!! Happy to support his business and will be back the next time we are in Calgary.

Zika, Maya and Marko are amazing people, they treated us so well, were so welcoming and kind, it made our experience there so memorable! The food is fantastic, well prepared, and so much flavour! Also so many food options for people who have dietary restrictions which is so great to see. Definitely going back the first chance I get.

Wonderful staff, food was prepped with care, with healthy and quality ingredients. They have unique vegan noodles that were delicious. Support small local businesses! I am very picky with ingredients so I highly recommend this place!

Although Marko's Kitchen may be out of the way, it's certainly worth the stop. We gave it a try hoping for tasty vegan food and weren't disappointed.

The home-style meals are moderarely portioned and reflect the rustic, simple design of the restaurant.

We had the cabbage rolls, which were filled with a secret, flavourful mixture of ground seeds and spices. They were served on a bed of mashed potatoes and covered in tomato sauce. They tasted great and immediately reminded me of home. My grandmother would approve.

Next, we tried the vegan stirfry with black bean noodles. The unconventional noodles gave a small wow factor, but overall the dish was bland, I have to admit. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

We didn't get to try the Tuesday vegan special because they had sold out, but we'll be back for sure!

Love the amazingly friendly service and equally tasty food. Lots of great dessert options.

I appreciate the low carbs options.
