Dennis did a reno of my 1950's style bungalow. Overall a good experience, he provided great suggestions, responded to questions on a timely basis and was open about any changes in cost before they were incurred. Where there were small issues as would be expected with a large job he rectified these issues on a timely basis. Compared to other experiences I have heard of where people deal with large contractors and can't get answers was glad I went for a contractor that provided a more personal experience and was open to small changes as the project progressed.

I hired Dennis to demolish a driveway and garage and build a new garage. I found him to be professional, hard working and reliable through the entire process. He was not the cheapest but his quality of workmanship was evident and I am please and would use him again for any large projects.

We have known Dennis Marquis for 7 years now, since he renovated our house in 2011. It was a major renovation, in which we basically tore down the inside of our bungalow to the bare walls, changed the internal floor plan, and then still added a second floor. At the time, he impressed us with his incredible knowledge on everything contracting. More yet with the type of person he is and with the care he showed even before beginning the project. We chose him among three offers we had and have never looked back. For all who have not gone through a major renovation of their house - it is a very stressful job. Sub-trades do not do the work they are supposed to or just plain do not show up. Dennis sheltered us from all of this by being our advocate through every step. He fought every fight on our behalf and made sure that in the end no issue became a lasting or a financial issue for us. We are extremely happy with the work he did. Our professional relationship did not end there though. He has been looking after every little issue in our house ever since with the utmost reliability. I truly feel he cares about us - his clients - and the lasting and enduring quality of the work he did for us. For all who are trying to decide on a contractor in this ocean of possibilities out there, realize that the most important thing you can ever find in a contractor is ongoing care after the contracts have been signed and money has exchanged hands. Dennis renovated the kitchen in my downtown condo unit and I was very pleased with the finished product. He was able to take the job on short notice, and completed it expertly, leaving the place clean and exactly as we had discussed. Great price and service.
