Lakeshore on Salt Spring is absolutely stunning. The cabins are beautiful and inviting and have absolutely everything you could possibly need. This is my 2nd trip to Lakeshore and it certainly won't be my last. The staff are so friendly and beyond helpful. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone looking for a peaceful and tranquil getaway. Lake views, beautiful grounds, comfortable beds and great entertaining spaces. Add Lakeshore on Salt Spring to your vacation getaway list. You won't be disappointed ❤

Very lovely and quaint, clean and comfortable. Quite nice for a relaxing weekend. There are several sizes of cabins are available. We were in what they call a "studio cabin" - a single room with a bed, couch, comfy chair, small kitchen table and kitchenette, with a small bathroom in one corner. There also a small deck with several chairs and a table and there a small BBQ in the space between and shared with two other cabins. At least some of the cabins have existed for decades based on the fixtures of ours - the front door had an old style key hole and one of those spring latched dead bolts (which has been augmented with a newer dead bolt installed above that). One odd thing about our unit (#2 - the Forget-Me-Not cabin) is that the back left corner has obviously settled over the years so there's a *significant* slant to the floor on the diagonal that increases the closer you get to that corner. Working in the kitchen is a little like being in one of those traveling carnival fun houses. I don't know if any of the other older cabins have a similar issue. It is right on Saint Mary's Lake and there's a narrow beach with two row boats and two kayaks for guests to use. The "boat house" has life jackets and water toys. The grassy area leading down to the lake has some picnic benches, several beach chairs of different styles, and a couple of hammocks with several willow trees dotted about so you can choose between sun and shade. A few things could be improved: In the bathroom they only provide teeny soap bars (only about 1 inch long and less wide) and makeup remover wipes but did not have shampoo or conditioner. The hot water in the bathroom sink had no pressure at all although it was fine everywhere else (shower, kitchen sink). The kitchen fawcett sprayed everywhere, even with relatively low flow. The windows don't have screens so we had to close them at night making it far warmer than it needed to be - there was a fan available but that only helped so much. I expect the reason for the lack of screens is due to the older style of window latch which has one side of the window swing out rather than sliding up or sideways but there are screen options out there that go on the inside of the window and include clip-open sections so that you can access the latches. Without these last issues, my rating works have been 4 stars instead of the 3 I gave.
