The last 2 miles to the campground are a dirt road. Sedans can make it but may hit bottom if the ruts are driven incorrectly. SUV's, and trucks will easily make it. Cost of a site per night is 18 Canadian as of 8/23. The campsites are laid out nicely, giving each site the room to park, cook, and set up tents in a comfortable fashion.
Their are two vault toilets and a hand pump for potable water. The "put in" to the lake is a simple gravel road to the lake, lined by large boulders.
Signs explain history and other information and express the need for heeding safety protocol due to grizzly bears that live in the area. Grizzlies have been seen passing through the campground now and then.

Wild. Scenic. Remote. Not for the average tourist.

Amazing spot and great scenery along the road.
Whatch out for wild life and life stocks.
Make sure you have enough gas as the reserve gas station close early.

Like others say, this is a magical place. In September 2021 the water is an exotic turquoise due to the heat dome melting the glaciers. But it sure is stunning. Beautiful walks going either direction from the campsite. The only downside is the wind which blows much of the time. Campsite #8 is the best place to pitch a tent to get out of the wind.

What an amazing place!! So incredibly magical, really well kept and super quiet! Rough road to get in but totally worth it. Best campsite ever. Black sand beach right off the campsites!
