Panorama Vacation Retreat at Horsethief Lodge

We walked the Valley Trail. Such a nice 3km home through the woods, past the golf course, and down by Toby Creek. Such a pleasurable walk.

When we booked our stay we were under the impression that this was a hotel. We were disappointed to find out that it is in fact a poorly maintained timeshare property.
The "cabin" we stayed in was in desperate need of updating. The sheets were clean, but the other bedding smelled like it had never been washed. The tub was definitely not clean. The kitchen was well stocked in terms of equipment, but all of the appliances were in need of maintenance.
The mattresses were so uncomfortable (thin and lumpy). None of us slept well the first night.

In the morning we went up to ski. That was the truly amazing part of the trip. The skiing was fun, the atmosphere exciting, and the views were spectacular. The staff at the chalet were friendly and helpful. We were very impressed.

Next time we go, we may book a hotel in Invermere and then drive up to ski. Or try one of the other lodging options.

One of our favourite ski resorts. Best place for families, the lessons for kids are top notch. Dining options are fine and simple, nothing fancy. Works for us.

Good variety of ski terrain to suit a huge range if abilities. It's always possible to find a new favourite run. Views are beautiful, nothing beats sitting in the sunshine at the summit hut with a delicious beverage in hand.
