Stave Lake Veterinary Hospital

We took our dog here to get a second opinion as he was not improving, we knew the news was not what we hoped for and unfortunately we had to put our beautiful pit bull down. The staff and vet were so compassionate and understanding to our feelings, the vet herself had just put down her dog down a month prior. They let our dog have all the treats he wanted, gave us our space to mourn and let us stay after they had closed for the night . afterwards we received a card signed by all the staff members which really touched our hearts. Although it was under sad circumstances, I do really appreciate the kindness the team at Stave Lake veterinary showed me and my family .

Last week I had to make the hardest decision, to allow my sweet senior pitbull cross over the rainbow Bridge due to old age and more importantly failing health. The staff at Stave Lake Vet were incredibly supportive and understanding. They took ink prints of Lucy's nose and Paws for me and gave me a beautiful card that the whole staff signed and wrote words of kindness and support.

I want to especially say thank you to Dr. Christine Smetschka. She was incredibly helpful, and informative, she provided me with options and always wanted what was the best outcome for both Lucy and myself. Whenever I had questions she did her best to answer them and if she didn't have the answer she found resources that would guide me in my research. She understood how hard this end of life journey was and was always supportive, kind, patient, and non-judgmental.

I will take my time to grieve and most likely won't get another dog/pet for a few years, but once I adopt a pet into my home again, I will definitely be returning to Stave Lake Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Christine Smetschka.

Super lovely staff! Took such great care of our kitty and super knowledgeable! Definitely one of the greater experiences I’ve had at a vet. Kudos!

We just had our first visit and I'm very impressed! Extremely clean clinic and staff are all very friendly and caring. Prices aren't bad either!

We unfortunately had to put our beloved dog to sleep today, but the staff and Doctor at stave lake animal hospital were nothing but kind, compassionate and helpful. This is not our normal vet, but they were willing to take us in and help our Tonka cross to the other side painless and comfortably. Thank you so much to the doctor and all the staff we interacted with, you are amazing humans ❤️
