The Serpentine Fen Dyke trail is located adjacent to a parking lot just off the King George Blvd. beside the Serpentine river. There is limited parking, but more parking is available in a small parking lot which is located on 44th Ave, which is a little black top then gravel road beside Art Knapps a short distance past the parking area on the King George Blvd. as you drive southbound.

There are several names for this park, the Serpentine Wildlife Management Area, Serpentine Fen, The Serpentine Trail, etc. but they all refer to the same bird sanctuary. We often see eagles and all kinds of water fowl. There is a trail, part gravel along the river that leads to first of three Serpentine Fen Watch Towers. At the end of the new gravel area the trail turns left and continues on and loops around past a second and third Watch Tower. (You actually walk a short distance on the dirt roadway alongside the highway and must again turn left back onto the trail, over a very small wooden bridge. You can't miss them)

The towers are a fun place to climb to the top and look out over the marshland and river. Sunrises and sunsets with a sometimes glimpse of a full moon makes for a very nice hike. The total distance is about 3.5 Km and with stopping to climb each of the three towers plan on an hour plus to traverse the looping trail. In the few cold days of winter when ice forms on the pond you will find lots of folks ice skating here too.
