Ben Lockwood Music Lessons

Ben taught my daughter Natalie saxophone for 2 months during summer so she could prepare for her band class in school. Natalie didn't have any experience with saxophone before, but Ben taught her so much during the 2 months of time and at the end of August she was able to play all the songs that she needed to play for school band.
Ben keeps me in a loop by telling me about Natalie's progress after the lesson or via email. He is good with clear instructions how to practice at home so Natalie can practice with consistency every day.
If anyone wants to learn how to play saxophone, I highly recommend Ben.

Ben has been my son's private clarinet teacher since he is in grade 8. Now my son got his Level 8 certificate for both theory and clarinet with high marks. Not only Ben knows how to keep my son's attention during teaching time(one and half an hour), but also is able to keep my son motivated outside the teaching time to practice. Ben is really professional, skillful, responsible and also compassionate about teaching. What I appreciated the most is that he is not just teaching clarinet, he is also teaching my son the importance of consistency and effort in success. He also really cares about my son and communicates with us really well about my son's ups and downs, so we work together like a real team. Definitely recommended!!

Every week, for an hour, Ben came prepared with different techniques and aspects to focus on, tailored to fit our child’s specific needs. He is wonderful with children, and was full of positive feedback and gentle encouragement where improvement was needed. We saw quick growth as Ben was able to give one on one focused instruction: offering practical tips in order to create dynamic sound, including scale practice and music theory review. Our son never found him confusing, and Ben always ensured he understood a concept or skill before moving on.
