It's probably a cliche to say that small boutique shops make better Gibsons than Gibsons, but the guys in Prestige does. The NYS Deluxe I got from them is the best archtop and P90 guitar I've ever played, and what a beauty it is. These go for half the price of Gibson equivalents, and for one fourth the price of Custom Shops you'd get the same level of personal attention, dedication and after-sale service. I've never bought a guitar brand new, but for a Prestige guitar the sticker price is worth every penny.

Please support your local mom-and-pop shop. Mike is a great representative for the brand - he'll give you fair trade-in deals, is super nice, and will tell you interesting things about the guitar making business.

They also do stuff like fretwork, finish work and other kinds of luthier service even outside of their guitar lines, so that's also super convenient.

I will be back for a second guitar.
