In the summer, I love walking along the peaceful river trail up to the Legislative Building. The scenery is lovely and there are some good photo opportunities. I also enjoy crossing the pretty Esplanade Riel pedestrian bridge over to the pretty French neighbourhood of St. Boniface. They also have Salsa Sundays under the canopy in the summer, which is fun to watch or participate in. Also in the summer, they offer regular boat tours on the river with guides. There is always lots going on during the summer in terms of events and activities here and there are multiple outdoor bars to enjoy a drink and relax.

Parking is now paid in all of the lots and parkade. They have an app that you can download and pay via your phone or there are meters that take cash and credit card.

The Forks is a bustling and lively place to visit in Winnipeg, with so many things to see and do. It's always a favourite of mine and I will continue to re-visit.

The Forks is very popular with both locals and tourists. It is one of Winnipeg's major tourist attractions. The Forks is located at the junction of the Red River and Assiniboine River. The site contains many shops and restaurants. During the summer, there is often free entertainment provided. A popular thing to do is to go on the River Walk located along either of the two rivers and/or take a narrated water taxi ride. For those with young children, I recommend visiting the Children's Museum. The Forks has the Esplanade Riel suspension pedestrian bridge which connects The Forks site to the very charming neighboring French community of St. Boniface. In the middle of the bridge is a French themed bistro restaurant which overlooks the Red River. While having a terrific meal, you will be able to enjoy a great view of The Forks, St. Boniface and the busy river traffic.

Nice place to roam around. Scenic beauty, adjacent by the river. Spots for children to play. Eye catching view of downtown.
