A small great film festival with a wide selection of films in a variety of genres. There are 4 venues close together so it is a pleasant short walk between films. The venues are nice, volunteers are helpful and the movies on the beach every night are in a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. We have attended for 4 to 5 years now and will definitely go again.

It's a wrap, and what a wrap! As GFF newbies and Gimli newbies we had the pleasure of experiencing our first Gimli Film Festival. Not that we've been culturally deprived, folks, but this was a terrific experience, complete with not only talent, freebies, but wonderfully hospitable volunteers. Nothing beat the opportunity to sit back and relax on our gorgeous Gimli beach while watching first class cinema under the stars. Only in Canada - Gimli, that is. With the tremendous number of options available, my ultimate favourite was the Canadian documentary, Slaughter Nick For President. Insightful. Humorous. Canadian. Multicultural. We left the Aspire theatre with both renewed hope for peace and the understanding of how our actions absolutely do affect others. Kumbaya anyone? Absolutely!
