The Gathering Place B&B

I stayed at The Gathering Place for only 1 night. It was very easy to find. Marg and Bernie greeted me at the door upon arrival. They were very warm, welcoming and considerate. They provided me recommendations on things to do around the island as well as directions if needed. They were very generous and kind. The property was lovely, with many relaxing and beautiful spots to sit and enjoy some coffee or Pelee Island wine. The bedroom was clean, cozy and presentable. Breakfast was amazing and exceeded my expectations. They were very accommodative to my dietary restrictions. I definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone looking to enjoy a quiet, relaxing getaway. I will definitely be returning, and for more than 1 night next time. The Gathering Place was easy to find. We were greeted as soon as we came through the door by Vic who sat us down and explained about the island's history and attractions and took us through the map of the island. We had brought our bicycles so he told us some of the best places to visit and approximately how long it would take. When I realized I hadn't checked the bike's air pressure, Vic pumped them up for us! The house was over a hundred years old, very clean and nicely decorated. The grounds were spacious with beautiful gardens and a private beach. I think the breakfast was my favorite part. It was as if it was prepared by a top chef consisting of an omelet, veggies, fruit, muffins, cookies, yogurt, fresh baked bread, and the best coffee I've had in some time. This is hands down the best b&b I've ever been to and Vic and Liz are the best hosts I've encountered. I usually like to experience new locations and never stay at the same place twice, but I really don't think I'll be able to stay away!!

This was my first experience with a B&B and it was everything I expected. Liz greeted my boyfriend and I with the biggest smile as soon as we walked into her enclosed porch. She was so informative about the island and things to see and do. The room was very quaint and her other guests were lovely! In the morning we were treated to the most delicious breakfast I've had in a while! Quiche with bread and fruit....so filling! Liz was the best hostess! I couldn't ask for a better host! Thanks Liz!!!! We will be back to see you sometime!!
