I spent five amazing weeks of work-trade at Coyote Tales during summer of 2022, and it was a very special time. Abby offered accommodations inside the house, but I wanted the privacy of a tent, so she provided me with a large new tent and a luxury mattress. The days were scorching hot, and we worked hard. During the first week, we picked up 400 bails of hay, and organized them into the old barn. Abby had rescued two Belgian Clydesdale horses (which obviously says something about the kind of person she is), and she put such an amazing amount of her time and energy into ensuring the well-being/survival of these horses. She loved them dearly.

I loved the cool spring-fed pond, especially after a couple of hours of good work. There were frogs and mud, and one felt as though they had just crawled out of the primordial sludge to be reborn on this gorgeous land. There were fields, forests, hills, flowers, ghostpipe, double-rainbows, shooting stars, bonfires, evening saunas, beautiful people, and I sincerely appreciated being there.

It was a very special time indeed - to bond with Abby (and her friends) and the other members of our summer family. We took turns preparing meals, and I will always cherish those evenings when we gathered around the dining table. During my visit, Abby also ran a buckskin tanning workshop, which was one of the most surreal weekends of my life. I look forward to returning to Coyote Tales, to have Cruiser (the dog) lick my face, or my special friend Akasha (the cat) sit on my chest and dig those claws into me. I can definitely recommend Coyote Tales, with its radiant energy, as a special place to retreat and reconnect with oneself and the land.
