The oldest rock in Canada with 2.3 billion years old. Massive and impressive. And one of the largest boulder in North America. 6.5 m high, 13 m long. Moved 45 km by the glacier forces. Off the beaten path close to 401 and 5 min shaded easy hike from the parking. Good resting stop. Infested with gypsy moths, but well worth visit.
🏴 Flag as inappropriateNice place to catch you're breath and enjoy the scenery.
🏴 Flag as inappropriateAlways a beautiful area. Trails are easy walking. Not too mucky right now, but it can be sometimes.
🏴 Flag as inappropriateNeed to see it to believe it! Nice short walk in. Great information about the boulder.
I would say accessable to everyone.
Nice short walk, very easy trail. Rated 5 stars because its not usually busy, and I've always enjoyed my little walks here, there is a creek under the bridge which is nice but during the summer it dries out. Bring bird seed if you want to feed the birds. :)
