  Booking on-line was easy. The price was competitive. Service at the YOW check-in was friendly and fast. We were offered a free upgrade! Information about nearby gas stations was included. We were very impressed. However, when we wanted to extend our reservation, we were told that in our particular case (a rental over 30 days), we could not do it on-line and would have to talk to someone at the Ottawa front desk. We called numerous times but no one answered the phone. We left several messages, none of which were returned. We subsequently had to rent a vehicle from another company rather than extend our current rental. It became a time-consuming, frustrating and disappointing experience.
  
  Addendum: The branch manager called us, extended our rental at the original rate, saving us several hundred dollars and a trip to the airport. Thank you National!!

  We arrived early on a Saturday at YOW so we had to wait for opening..National was the first agency to open its door. The gal was efficient getting us to our vehicle within 2-4 minutes. The vehicle was clean and perfect for our needs for the week+. On return we mentioned we had to put oil in the vehicle - due to a signal coming on..the attendant was excellent - he deducted our cost of the oil from the full bill. He had us checked in at the vehicle very fast. Polite and organized. We travel quite a bit and we'll be coming back for more National as our first choice !
