Jeff Purvey's Fish & Chips

Just ordered tonight for the first time ever. When I was a teen living in PTBO my mom would pick up Fish from here once a year, which was pretty special.

I had the regular fish and chips with a side of coleslaw and lots of malt vinegar. For the price? I cannot complain. Fish was hot. Crisp. Not greasy. Chips are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Guy behind the counter was pleasant and a woman who I assume may have been the owner was super nice.

Everyone was wearing masks and quick.

Highly recommend. They are an institution. Best deal it town!

Best fish & chips anywhere... had the halibut and the portion was huge, much bigger and tastier than anywhere I've been. We had a special place in orillia called bounty and thought it was untopable... well this place typed it indeed. Great price, delicious food and the people that work there were very warm and friendly. Loved it and would highly recommend it.

We were recommended this place by someone who used to go years ago and were warmly greeted by the employee when we arrived right at the opening time.

We ordered the two piece halibut and chips and it was and was promptly fried and neatly wrapped. The employee was very friendly and asked if we needed any utensils, condiments, and if we wanted to split the portion into two dishes.

The food itself was good, although the halibut could be a bit more moist. Would like to try the pickerel if we ever return. The customer service alone is enough reason to come back!
