Perfect. Our family was so fortunate to adopt our baby kitten, Farfel, from HSDR. The experience was fantastic even during this COVID situation. We couldn't be happier and I don't think Farfel could be either. You can tell that he's been lovingly cared for, he loves people and wants to play or just cuddle up on us and chill.

We were very lucky to have met the staff and volunteers at the Whitby location. From the moment we filled out an application online, to the interview process, to the meet and greet of the pups and finally to the final day of adoption, the process went so smoothly and professionally that we are so happy with this experience. This is our first time to adopt a puppy, moreso a puppy from the Bahamas so we were very blessed. The staff and volunteers at this location put in all their time, effort and most of all love to these animals who need it the most. Thank You Humane Society of Durham Region for doing what you do!

Despite being in a pandemic situation adopting from the Humane Society of Durham was a wonderful experience that was both easy and still kept the safety of visitors and staff as a priority. We adopted a kitten named blue and he's been home with us for four days now. The Humane Society gave us detailed instructions on his feedings and provided some free food and lots of info on the kitty. Great staff doing an amazing job in strange and difficult times.

The workers here have always been incredibly kind even when helping me face one of the hardest decisions of my life. I was never made to feel small or like a bad person and I appreciate their services. The animals are incredibly well taken care of and loved.
When I first adopted my cat they allowed me to foster first so they would take on all the costs of the medications she needed and we fostered until she was off of them and then adopted. It was thoughtful.
