We had a wonderful time at the Balmoral! The food was fantastic and the staff was so accommodating and kind. We had the duck poutine, honey garlic chicken wings, wild game burger, and bison ribeye. The poutine was one of the best we have EVER had. The steak was cooked perfectly and had the most wonderful mushroom sauce. Even the salads were fantastic! We absolutely recommend coming here.

Great patio, great food, friendly service, and pet friendly! Even have a patio pet menu. My two dogs also give 5 stars for their frozen pup cup.

How does a place this awesome exist in Barry’s Bay?! INCREDIBLE food, friendly service, and a super fun atmosphere and patio. Whoever is in the kitchen here is serious talent. We came three times in one week haha… tacos were fantastic, served with fresh tortillas and housemade salsa. both burgers were like Toronto-quality bistro pub— the one with the pork belly could be a meal for two honestly—and the duck poutine is one of the most delicious things I have tried in a long time. duck poutine such creative and delicious flavours all together and the little peppers on top. Chefs kiss. Massive portion so we turned it into a breakfast hash the next day and it was delicious also in its second life with an egg on top! Calimari was our only slight disappointment just because the rings were weirdly small and seemed a bit over cooked. Wondering if it’s fresh squid which is why they are small? Wings are jumbo and juicy not breaded— taste like really good ones you might make at home super fresh. And housemade fresh dill dipping sauce was amazing. Loved the pub trivia night also, was a fun surprise. Seems very kid-friendly with a menu and arcade games in the back corner. And a dog meal menu for the patio! THEY HAVE really THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING!! Patio vibes were amazing, even when it started raining and the incredible waitress ran around helping everybody get moved to tables under the porch or inside. Probably this review seems fake but honestly we were just so surprised and impressed to finally have a great place to go out in town (don’t have to drive all the way to Wilno Tavern anymore!!) thanks ladies!! Can’t wait for next visit!

Stopped in for a beer and a few snacks on a holiday in July. Took the seadoos across the lake and pulled up at the docks at the start park. It was a ten min walk to the bistro. The place wasn’t too busy but they seemed to be a little short staffed because the service was just a little slow. Enjoyed a local craft brew as well as soon regular fries and fried calamari. Everyone in our group thought the calamari were very tasty and done just right, and it had a nice aloi sauce with it. The plain fries were nicely done. I imagine the poutine would be pretty good. They have patio seating which is where we sat and was nice. Worth the stop.

We stopped by for a late dinner on a Friday night. It wasn't very busy this night but wasn't slow either. The Bistro is located on the first floor of the Balmoral Hotel. We seated ourselves at a window that looks out at the Train Station Museum... Very happy with the view. The tavern was a little noisy and had an old bar feel with all the wooden furnishings. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. We ordered the Roasted Carrot and Avocado salad and the Greens, Beets and Seeds salad, both with grilled chicken. The salads were super delicious (the chicken was a little dry but tasty still). Service was good. I was pleasantly surprised with our experience here and recommend this Bistro.
