I really hate to do this, as I usually only leave positive reviews but this was such a let down. I was so looking forward to experiencing the Nelson Street Pub in Pembroke. The beautiful website shows what looks like fantastic food with huge portions and an amazing atmosphere. Nothing could be further from the truth. The waitress was wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming. The place didn't look much like the photos on the website. We left there hungry. The club sandwich was made on the smallest bread I have ever seen. The ingredients were paper thin and the chicken was little scraps of meat. The poutine consisted of a few fries with very few cheese curds topped with fake canned gravy. The food is nothing like in the photos on the website and I would not recommend wasting hard earned money on this disappointing food. Definitely wouldn't go back.

The food is really good, probably the best burgers in town. However, there’s a hidden charge of $2 each for adding pickles, onion, tomato, etc to your burger, and it’s not listed on the menu! This turns your $20 burger into $30 really quick. Customers beware!

This place doesn’t really show up on reviews. Not sure why? I happened to just drive by. The weather was grand and they had a patio. I played it safe of course and ordered a burger says it’s made fresh daily and that’s exactly what I got great burger. They have a great burger menu from a fried egg on it to sautéed mushrooms. I really don’t think you can go wrong. The rest of the menu looked interesting also for every one. PS nice local IPA also whitewater brewing company. I come this way for business from time to time. I will be back to this place fore sure. The servers were excellent also and thanks to kitchen for the great burger and onions rings. PS it’s right on the Ottawa river and there is a great water tower with mural on it.
Update: I was in town for business the weather was grand again so off to the Nelson street pub I went. The service was great and friendly. I had the wings with fries. The fries we’re home cut so very good. Wings were done well.

Great atmosphere and staff. Service was great. Ordered chips with garlic aioli to start which was fantastic. My guest and I each got burgers (Mac Attack and Angry Lucy) which were great. Poutine was good. Onion rings were average and weren't better than what you'd find at a fast food joint. Lost a star because at the time the TVs in the pub weren't fully functioning. I Would definitely return.

The names of the meals were witty 10/10 for menu creativity. The food was definitely tasty. Loved that the nachos were layered so it wasn’t like other places where you eat the top layer and you just have plain nachos. Their beef patties have a very particular flavour. I for sure will come back to try other items on the menu as the food was fantastic. Minus a star as service was poor. We waited almost an hour to get our food and the server wasn’t very attentive. But the food for sure made up for it and I’d be curious to see if this was a regular occurrence or if they were just short staffed that night.
