It is a beautiful place to live. The place is clean, has a lot of amenities to offer. The programs are great, the staff is very professional and kind. When I visit the Waterford I feel that I am walking into a five star resort.

Visited extended family here. Staff are amazing. Only rating lower because it seems like the staff and over burdened. Hire more help when you have a lot of people awaiting longterm care. Otherwise seems great.

When I think back to the day that our father passed away nearly one-and-a-half years ago, our family was definitely not entertaining the thought of a retirement residence for our mother so soon after our tragic loss. We knew, though, that it was something we needed to consider down the road, given that the family farm in Innisfil was no longer ours. The decision to move Mammi into the Waterford was not made lightly, but with foresight. I am one who does not believe in coincidence, yet so it was, that a suite at 132 Edgehill Dr. in Barrie became available at precisely the time that it was needed.
Thus began the transition from rural to urban and a new place to call HOME...
    Fast forward to Spring, 2019...
Mammi is very happy here and enjoys all the amenities of this beautifully appointed retirement home. Her suite is furnished with the unique treasures and charm with which we were surrounded for nearly 52 years when she and Adolf and the three of us lived on the farm.
My mother takes full advantage of the many opportunities provided at the Waterford, such as the Book Club, attending evening performances at the movie theatre, and listening to a variety of charming performers and informative presenters in the multitude of locales, aptly named communities, throughout the Waterford.
The staff is friendly and helpful. One is always greeted with a smile at the front desk and one need only ask if a question arises.
I have always been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the friendly service provided at meal times.
Though I am not a resident of the Waterford, I have heard say that the lunch and dinner menus, of late, have earned a less than stellar rating.
However, given the care and compassion that the staff at the Waterford have shown to Mammi and to other residents during the time that she has called it HOME, this seems like a relatively small concern.
For my part, I want to say thank you to all those who have made my mother feel welcome, loved and heard.

My mother has lived at The Waterford for 3 years, first in independent living and now in assisted living.

The staff are all very helpful and caring individuals and the facilities are excellent. Staff do their best to help in every aspect of day to day living and provide lots of activities for the residents.

We have seen the transition to the new owners and for the most part, things have not changed much with one exception. I have to agree with other comments about the food. It is not as good as it was, and is not as good on the Birches (assisted living) floor as it was in the indqependent living dining room. Neither is anywhere near the quality my parents were used to when they lived in a retirement home in North York. With the cost what it is, the food should be much better!

The Waterford is a very beautiful place. My friends mother lives there and I could not believe how nice her Room is, so bright and cheery. The day I went with her to visit they had baked shortbread cookies and we were invited to listen to a live musician who came to perform there (lucky surprise)! I'm told they do this all the time. After the concert we went for a walk and there was a movie theatre right in the building. The employees seemed very nice and helpful. We did not want to leave.
