Martyrs' Shrine

Neat park grounds, cemetary and church. Part of the early history of what was to become Upper Canada

Place of worship.
Holy place.

Beautiful place. Even if you go for purely aesthetic reasons, it's worth it. The shrine itself is lovely, and the grounds (with the many small chapels, statues and memorials) are gorgeous. Better still, of course, is to go to pray. It's a deeply holy place. A thin place.

Attended the First Light festival at Saint Marie and walked the trail up to the Shrine. The festival was very picturesque with thousands of candles lighting paths to Pioneer dwellings and Native long houses.

Everything was beautiful. Clean. We borrowed a wheelchair from the church. The gentleman guide was most kind. After I made a few purchases I went back to the office to thank the person for loaning us the wheelchair and ask for a blessing. The gentleman is a priest. He blessed my cross, Bible and holy water and especially me. What a beautiful experience we will never forget. The ????, Valentine,too. Thank-you Father. Lesley Karen and Len Brown.
