We have had the amazing opportunity to work with the entire team at Maternity Care Midwives with all 3 of our children's births. We had our first daughter at the birthing center, the midwives, nurses and entire crew were diligent, informative, caring and all around amazing.
The following 2 children were birthed at home. I must say that the professionalism, and all-around care and knowledge of the midwifery team was world class. Their attention to detail and calm demeanor made our home births the most special and personal experiences we could have dreamed of.

As a nursing student in 2007 I had the pleasure of working with the Maternity Care Midwives of Thunder Bay. This placement had a lasting influence in my nursing experiences throughout the years. These strong intelligent women gave me a good base of maternity care and newborn assessment that has had a large impact on my practice today. I was given an opportunity to observe these Midwives closely with a variety of women from different cultural backgrounds. They were sensitive and knowledgeable with their patient centred care. It was an excellent educational experience and would recommend it to any nursing student planning on working in Labour and Deliver and/or Maternal newborn floors.
