(April 24, 2018, 3:44 pm)Attended St. Antoine Daniel for the entirety of my elementary school career. As opposed to the reviews already written on this site, the school is your average BUDGET elementary school under TCDSB.

PROS:
- close knit community (everyone knows each other. This does not mean everyone is nice to each other)
- proximity to major high schools, almost guaranteeing admission to them (Brebeuf highschool, Loretto Abbey, St. Joes, Northview Heights)
- Large Field
- ability to be involved in programs such as science fair, the gifted program, etc.
CONS:
- restrictive administration (My grade wasn't allowed to go on overnight trips, etc.)
- Mean secretary (was her office helper in 7th and 8th grade. She is extremely rude)
- Small classrooms with no air conditioning
- Cliques (this is subjective given the fact that cliques can develop at any elementary school)
Everyone previously mentioned the abundance of Filipino students in their reviews. Yes, majority of the school's students are, indeed, Filipino. However, if this becomes your reason as to why your child will not attend this school, then that presents problems of itself.
Regarding tests and projects, schools are indeed supposed to give you tests and projects. Personally speaking, being involved in St. Antoine's student council, science fair, speech competitions, etc. somewhat prepared me for the work load of high school.
St. Antoine is a great school for those who live in the Finch area. It may not be perfect, however, I'd say its your average elementary school. Compared to other elementary schools, however, St. Antoine does not receive the same level of funding from the board.
