Catkin Cafe

Repeatedly read about Catkin in our guest house guest book. Had to go. Our family loved it! It was just what we needed after a hike up to Mt. Constitution. Also met James Hardman and enjoyed his artwork.

My wife and I both had the black bean burgers. They were able to accommodate my wife's aversion to onions. The burgers were pretty sloppy, fairly tasty, maybe needed a little salt. But I trashed the skin on the roof of my mouth by biting into mine because the interior of the burger itself is very hot unlike a meat burger. They should warn people. Rhubarb raspberry pie for dessert was excellent Server was great. Building was a strawberry packing facility in the 30s.

We were visiting friends on San Juan Island and we took their boat over to Olga and walked up to the restaurant. We were a large group so we walked around the gallery while we waited for lunch.

Everything on the menu is made from scratch and provided locally. It was fresh and flavorful and very filling. Breakfast was served all day so we had a mix of that and lunch items. I loved that the kitchen was open and you could watch the work.
