Kelly Berg Music

I've been taking lessons with Kelly for a little over a year now. He's incredibly patient and a natural teacher. I always leave the lesson with helpful tips, and food for thought. Scheduling seems flexible and his studio space is a lot of fun. A+, 5/5 stars. \m/

I had to gain some ability on the classical guitar in just about three months in order to make my audition for the WWU music program, and having put in the work on what Kelly gave me to do, it was no problem. Aside from my actual practice, I learned a lot about the instrument in general just in passing.

I started guitar lessons with Kelly a couple months ago. I had some lessons when I was a teenager but I hadn't played in years since. I didn't really know what I wanted except that I used to love playing the guitar and I wanted to feel that again. Kelly is very skilled and he quickly picked up on the style of music I enjoy and that I was hungry for knowledge as much as technique and skill. He gave me plenty to do each week and patiently and exuberantly answered every question I had. I have loved every lesson and am always excited to go home and practice every new piece of music or technique we are learning. Also, I have an 18 month old that I bring to my lessons and Kelly is so good with him and positive about kids of all age learning to play and love music. Kelly's love of music is evident and his skill and ability to teach others is perfect for anyone who has a desire to learn at any level.

I am an adult and learning to play ukulele for the first time. I came to Kelly with a recently purchased ukulele, some bad habits, and basically very little understanding of what I needed. In one session Kelly was able to hone in on what I needed. He gave me some foundational practice to work on at home, and techniques to replace the bad habits I was forming with my strumming. Each time I've seen him I have not had a clear idea of what I needed, and Kelly has been able to identify what my next steps should be. For someone as novice as I am, I appreciate his patience, clarity and expertise. Perhaps more important than all of those is his ability to teach and communicate in a way that I understand and can put to practice. If you are young or old, learning an instrument, or just want to increase your skill level, I would highly recommend taking lessons with Kelly!!

Calm, patient and very verse in teaching. Kelly has an incredible ability in teaching music. Never thought I'd be as far along in my learning process. Highly recommended!
