“Wow. An incredible chef. This place has been a wonderful location in Walkerville, but without a proper chef, it has failed to thrive in its last several ventures. 1840 Social has hit the mark... Yes, it has trendy barn boards on appearance, but follows up with a big bang on the food. Incredible flavours, good portions, and cooked to perfection. “Outstanding service and excellent food, again. There is no comparison between Vito's and the last few places we've been. From the beginning, my wife and I appreciated how comfortable the chairs are, the professionalism in the wait staff, and the welcoming atmosphere. After getting seated and settled we started to notice the little things that in retrospect are actually big things; proper chairs, attentive servers who never left us without water, a comfortable room temperature. The food was delicious as always.”

“The wife and I came in for a quick bite in between painting rooms at our new house. The service was so amazing & the food so delicious, we wound up staying for 3+ hours. “You get what you pay for with the portions of food served; a step up in taste compared to any other pub in Windsor. There is an extensive beer list for any discerning drinker. However if you go on a day that isn't so busy you'll still be waiting to be served as if the place were packed. The waitresses lack diligence, personality and seem to like to hide, out of sight so they don't have to go on their rounds checking in on paying customers and earning a tip. My friends and I saw MORE from the BARTENDER who came to check up on my party. So, if you don't look old and rich expect to be ignored.”

“The food was really good! We ordered the Pad Thai and Buddha Bowl. Everything was delicious. I also had the chocolate mousse and it was a great dessert. The reason for only 4 stars is because everything was super expensive. I love that everything is vegan and everything can be made gluten free as well, but dang! It's expensive eating healthy, vegan, and gluten free! Totally worth the trip though!”

“Great cocktails! Try the basil, peppercorn and egg white! They serve small plates so lots of fun trying different foods and sharing. Try the Brussels sprouts, octopus ceviche and bacon wrapped dates! It’s a tiny venue so make reservations or it’s very tough to get in. It’s down a few stairs. Jeff was our server and he is great! “This location is one of my favourites in the city because of the older lady who works there. Not sure of her name but she is really friendly and welcoming. Standard KFC food with an old school feel. If you want some nostalgia check out this hidden location and enjoy some greasy chicken. If chicken was a bit less greasy it's 5 stars. Staff otherwise phenomenal.”

“Perfection !!!! Beautiful Friday night to spend on the patio. We were greeted right away when we walked in and were told to help ourselves to a spot on the patio. The waitress came right out and thoroughly explained the menu since it was our first time, but we already knew what we wanted and it was everything we imagined and more!The Ridiculous and Obnoxious Caesar for Two!! Following part of the title we each decided to get our own, ridiculous, definitely a treat to split!! The caesar itself was amazing everything else was a bonus!! Great atmosphere, the owner even came out to chat with us and check in on the outdoor music ! Can't wait to return and spread the word !”

“Stopped by while we were in Windsor visiting family. After a 4-5 hour long drive, we were tired and HUNGRY. This place hit the spot! Really delicious and super flavourful. And they listen to your spice preference. A lot of Thai places will hear you say 'make it spicy' and not listen. But here, I asked for Spicy and got it! I got the friend rice dish with shrimp, my hubby got the curry noodle dish. The only downside of the meal, was that his nooldes we're tad overcooked. Otherwise it was perfect.”

“This is just my second time here, but so far my impressions are very positive. Store was clean, line was short, and both burger and fries came very quickly and tasted very fresh. The freestyle Coke machine is nifty; I'm slowly trying the different "Dave's Soda" flavours, which are not bad (says a non-pop fan). The restaurant's location before the Ouellette overpass and at the intersection of two of Windsor's biggest arteries, make eating there and watching the traffic feel vaguely like you're in a larger city. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop in, but it's a pleasant stop to roll up with a walk in Jackson Park.”
