Gathered here with a group if about 10 for a birthday. The place is lovely. The charcuterie board was great. I got the duck and was underwhelmed. ( bit dry ) but overall our evening was fantastic and I would absolutely return to enjoy wine and oysters or apps on the lovely patio
Visited Kingston as a tourist.
This place is great. The food was excellent. Our chef Rory is quiet a talent in the kitchen. Simple and clean.
My gf has celiac and they took extra special care of her.
The drinks were very high quality with good spirits used. No dirty beefeater gin for us. Taylor was right on with our drink suggestions. The Knickerbocker at the end of my night really kicked it into high gear. Great idea Taylor! Great place! 10 stars
Love Chien Noir: two beautiful patios ..one out front in the sun and one in the back in the shade... But today..40degrees out. it was nice to sit inside in air condition comfort. and have a wonderful house salad & a glass of wine.
The courtyard patio/terrace was a perfect way to have dinner on a hot July evening. The food was very tasty, the water drinkable (no chlorine taste). There were few items on the menu that I actually wanted to eat, but the chicken supreme was very tasty. The seasonings were spot on. (The veggies were on the burnt side, leaving me to debate whether to give them 4 or 5 stars. I opted for five as the flavours were much better than another restaurant I tried recently downtown.)
For the last two years my boyfriend & I received gift certificates as Christmas gifts, and it's a great present! We love coming here for a cocktail/beer or two with our meal. Haven't been disappointed with our food or drinks.
Last time we went I got this chicken dish with lots of local? root vegetables. Best chicken I have ever had in my life, so flavourful and juicy. The portion was also very large that we were able to have it as brunch the next day.
My boyfriend got steak and fries, it was good, but dulled in comparison to my dish.
My favourite go to cocktail here is made with Earl Grey, very refreshing and not too sweet.
