I went to a restaurant the other day with my family, I order my meal which included mash potatoes. After getting served my meal I notice that the gravy that came with my meal (over my meat) was not covering my mashed potatoes. Rather that paying extra for gravy, I asked for butter. The butter came and I enjoyed my meal. The bill arrived and as I scanned down the itemized list I noticed a charge for $1.00, Curious I asked the server what this $1.00 charge was all about. She replied oh that your charge for the butter you asked for. After Laughing I asked if I was expected to eat the very dry potatoes with noting on them and pointed out that I would think that butter would come by default. In the end I paid $1.00 extra so I could eat my dried mash potatoes.

Building-1824, food-2020! Hubby had a Nacho Salad-so good I'm having it next time. Yes, I checked out. I had a Cuban ham and pulled pork-ooey gooey good. No, I didn't share. Coffee-fresh and hot. Service-friendly and efficient.

To the usual fare you'd expect to find in a bar and grill, American House adds a few interesting dishes, such as mango haddock, a spinach, pear and candied walnut salad, and even an authentic Jägerschnitzel (recommended!).

Beer selection is impressive, with over ten domestic and US brands, and five European ales and lagers on tap, plus a dozen more bottled. Drafts are $6.60 - 8.20 for 18oz, $18 - 22 for a 60oz pitcher.

Everything they serve is high quality, and service is attentive. The patio facing parking lot is nice and quiet. Prices are in line with other bar and grill joints, but check the daily features for specials.

The parking lot fills up quickly, and wheelchair access can be tricky, as is often the case with these older buildings.

Best priced/value pub in the area. Service is always great. Don't like that people smoke right next to the patio though.
